Another Black Music and Hip-Hop Legend is lost this week and so young...sad. :(
Condolences to all of the family, friends and fans of Party Arty a.k.a. P.80 of the Legendary D.I.T.C. and the Ghetto Dwellas from the BlackRadioIsBack.com and FuseBox Radio Broadcast.
D.I.T.C. Member Party Arty Passes Away
It's another sad day in the hip-hop community. Rapper Party Arty of the legendary D.I.T.C. and Ghetto Dwellas crews passed away Thursday (December 4), due to health problems.
According to a post on DJ Premier's blog, the rapper died at around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The health aliments he suffered from were not disclosed.
"I want to send out my condolences to the family of Party Arty," DJ Permier wrote in a blog entry.
Fans flocked to the rapper's MySpace page Thursday and Friday, leaving several messages, some shocked by the news.
"Say it aint so -- P 80 Party Arty, rest in peace man. What a shocking tragedy," user Clyde Flow wrote in the comments.
"You like a brother to me and I never forget the good times we had ... the music we created was something special," Dizaster wrote. "I'm gonna miss u my G, I can't believe u gone. Tell Hitman I said What up!"
Party Arty is remembered mostly for working under A.G., of Showbiz and A.G. fame, and was featured heavily on several D.I.T.C. projects.
Throughout his career, he worked with the likes of DJ Premier, Lord Finesse, Madlib, Fat Joe, and O.C.
According to DJ Premier's blog entry, the rapper caught the attention of 50 Cent, and at one time, a deal was in the works. However, it never came to fruition.
