My cool as hell OHN Staff Pic as done by Slaus Caldwell - DJ Fusion

Good Evening from DJ Fusion this 4th of July weekend here in the States!

I've been doing a lot on the FuseBox Radio Broadcast/BlackRadioIsBack.com end for the past half year of ups and downs (personal and business fronts), so the updates on the site have been a little bit on the slow side...

One of the great things folks been doing for the past few years is being a part of the awesome OHN (O Hell Nawl!) music writing staff and dropping reviews on various mainstream and independent Hip-Hop & Soul Music albums.

Here are the latest album reviews I've written so far in 2013 for OHN (and some review podcasts in conjunction with our fam over at Where's My 40 Acres) - visit their site, read up, comment, support and enjoy!

Picture from the 88-Keys feat. Kanye West "Stay Up (Viagra)" Video Shoot...yes, they are wilin'

What's up BlackRadioIsBack.com and FuseBox Radio Broadcast Crew!

Due to my 9 to 5 getting a wee bit hecitc and just doing a bit of behind the scenes revamping of the website (some new editions of content on here are going to make things a lot more consistent), a sis over here is catching up on actually posting up some articles, music and things for y'all - thanks for staying in for the long haul and hope things are well. :)

I have to give both 88-Keys and Kanye West for putting a bit of imagination and good humor with this video for the song "Stay Up (Viagra)", especially with most mainstream Hip-Hop videos seeming to follow the "look hard on the rented streets with rented hoes eventually going to the club, flashing (fake) money, repeat" cycle of iCoonery & boredom.

This track is from 88-Keys' The Death Of Adam album that's now out on Decon Records. This song honestly was my favorite on this album and apparently, someone else's too since this video looks like the makeup budget alone could fund a small country or AIG executive.

Anyway, check out the video below and enjoy - let us know what you think! :)

Kanye West and His Mother, Dr. Donda West (picture from Chicago Tribune article)

Kanye West's mother dies

By Kelley L. Carter | Tribune staff reporter
4:45 PM CST, November 11, 2007

Donda West, the mother of hip-hop star and Chicago native Kanye West, died early Sunday in Los Angeles.

The former English professor at Chicago State University also was her son's manager and the chairwoman of the Kanye West Foundation.

Earlier this year, she released a book, "Raising Kanye," that chronicled her son's childhood.

A West spokesperson confirmed the death, saying "the family respectfully asks for privacy during this time of grief."

As one who has lost a supportive and loving parent in recent years, all condolences from myself and the BlackRadioIsBack.com family for the brother's loss.

NOTHING is worse than losing someone who loves you unconditionally, much less a parent.
