On the evening of Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, the FuseBox Radio Broadcast and BlackRadioIsBack.com family attended the "Paris Is Burning: Celebrating 25 Years...The Book...The Film...The Ball" event over at the Human Rights Council Building in Washington, DC.

The night's events was a celebration of the high regarded documentary Paris Is Burning (which is still available to watch via Netflix), which covered the Harlem Drag Ball scene of the late 1980s to early 1990s.

A viewing of the documentary happened along with a panel/Q&A session featuring author Dr. Lucas Hilderbrand of the book "Paris Is Burning" along with 2 of the film's cast members (Sol Williams Pendarvis and Freddie Pendarvis) & various members of the black D.C. LGTBQ activism & performance arenas about the impact of the movie from past to present.

After a cocktail reception, the evening closed out with a Mini Ball hosted by Rayceen Pendarvis with music spun by DJ Vjuan Allure judged by the night's panel and special guests.

Check out some of the pictures of the active night below...hope folks dig it!  Thanks to the fine folks of the Ask Rayceen Show for having us there as press!

 photo twitchhillaryellen.jpg

Our commentary this week after being out for a while touched base on why we've been out of the mix for a little while (lots of press event travels), our time at AfroPunk, the utter bulls**t that is the accusations of Black Americans doing "cultural appropriation" of Africans, the passing of musicians Kool DJ AJ & Rico Rodriguez of The Specials, the $6.4 million dollar settlement given to Freddie Grays's family and updates on that course case, the latest rounds U.S. presidential candidate foolishness & pandering (from Hilary Clinton, Donald Trump & other folks), our VERY different viewpoints on Macklemore's "Downtown" & Melle Mel's comments about how younger/more famous Hip-Hop heads should put old school heads on and some other things here and there.

There is no brand new Black Agenda Report news mini-segment on this week's episode due to our extended commentary.

Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.
