I found out about this event via our Twitter account earlier today and had to spread the word - it's always great to see people doing positive things in their communities! :)

“100 Black Men of Hope”

A Community Event Dedicated to Making a Difference Amongst the Youth
The “100 Black Men of Hope” event will be held Friday, November 6th at Imagine Hope Community Charter School in Washington, DC from 9 am - 2 pm.

The main goal of this event is to have 100 African-American males come out as volunteers in order to be a strong showing that positive male Black role models do exist and are available for the students this predominantly African-American school.

** NOTE: ANYONE can volunteer for the event to help the youth!! While having a goal of wanting 100 African-American males to turn out, EVERYONE is welcome to help, regardless of race or sex. **

ALL of the volunteers that day will help children with everything from their day to day activities, to cleaning the school, assist school workers, mentoring, reading books and more.

Students will also receive free giveaways from professional athletes and celebrities that originate from the Washington D.C. Metropolitan area!

Some of sponsors/partners & confirmed attendies of this event include Target, Capital Custom, Interscope artist Wale, NBA Basketball player Kevin Durant, Professional Skateboarder Darren Harper, NU Ent/Battery/Jive recording artist Don Juan, Inner Loop Record’s Lyriciss, BET College Hill’s Chris, 368 Music Group's Phil Ade and Dre All Day in the Paint, Island Flavors Caterers and many more constantly being added on.
