This is the latest episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Jon Judah for the week of March 25, 2009 with some new and classic Hip-Hop & Soul Music, news and commentary.

This week's commentary focused on some recent mainstream news stories about health disparities and issues for the Black community to other communities in the U.S. and some other things here and there.

The Tony Williams Myspace Page

This week we have a great interview with Soul Music Artist Tony Williams (http://www.myspace.com/thetonywilliams) from G.O.O.D. Music.

This interview was done right before the inauguration of U.S. President Barack Obama in D.C. where we takled about everything from Tony Williams' life & background, the importance of continuing a strong Black Music tradition, his influences, the music industry, his upcoming album "King or The Fool", the historical impact of having a Black American elected to be president and many other things!

Due to our interview, we did not have new DirectEFXor Black Agenda Report segments this week.

Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast here on BlackRadioIsBack.com - all of the shows are clean/radio friendly.

Picture from the 88-Keys feat. Kanye West "Stay Up (Viagra)" Video Shoot...yes, they are wilin'

What's up BlackRadioIsBack.com and FuseBox Radio Broadcast Crew!

Due to my 9 to 5 getting a wee bit hecitc and just doing a bit of behind the scenes revamping of the website (some new editions of content on here are going to make things a lot more consistent), a sis over here is catching up on actually posting up some articles, music and things for y'all - thanks for staying in for the long haul and hope things are well. :)

I have to give both 88-Keys and Kanye West for putting a bit of imagination and good humor with this video for the song "Stay Up (Viagra)", especially with most mainstream Hip-Hop videos seeming to follow the "look hard on the rented streets with rented hoes eventually going to the club, flashing (fake) money, repeat" cycle of iCoonery & boredom.

This track is from 88-Keys' The Death Of Adam album that's now out on Decon Records. This song honestly was my favorite on this album and apparently, someone else's too since this video looks like the makeup budget alone could fund a small country or AIG executive.

Anyway, check out the video below and enjoy - let us know what you think! :)

May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997

It's kind of strange to think that over 12 years ago on this day, a New York City MC representing Brooklyn known as Christopher Wallace a.k.a. The Notorious B.I.G. a.k.a. Biggie was shot down and killed in California.

I still remember being in my dorm room at Rutgers University and waking up to a very subdued Hot 97 Morning show talking about his sad and violent death (still unsolved by the legal authorities in this country) and playing his songs throughout the day, being shocked that not even 12 hours before, a crew of us were watching folks on the Soul Train Music awards.

A few days later, his final full album of work, Life After Death was dropped on the masses and on sale everywhere, including the indie rock spots on campus that almost NEVER sold any form of Hip-Hop music.

I think that however folks feel about his status as a Top 5, 10, 25 or 50 MC, B.I.G. had what few of the new era mainstream or independent Hip-Hop MCs seem totally grasp at times - it's not just about a hot beat or verse, but about making hot SONGS along with a strong PERSONALITY behind them.

With just two albums, the Notorious B.I.G. made an impact for not just his region, but nationally and internationally as a Black Music artist showing both the ups and downs of a life - everything in his songs was covered from severe depression to the ultimate high of fame, from how folks viewed him from being rich to poor (literally "ashy to classy") and many other stories, real and imagined.

Regardless of his flaws during his short life with various personal issues (which before B.I.G. died, it seemed like he was trying to get things together), personally I feel that absolute for him being an artist can't be denied.

Condolences from the BlackRadioIsBack.com and FuseBox Radio Broadcast family to his family, friends and fans.

Good Monday Morning to our BlackRadioIsBack.com & FuseBox Radio Broadcast Crew!

Hope things are going well for you at the start of the work week. :)

Our peoples over at Power 105.1 FM DJ Kut (representing the St. Louis. MO and NYC areas) hit us with one of his recent old school Soul, Hip-Hop & House music mini-mixes (this one is about 25 min.) to share with everyone on the site - these are some pretty dope grooves from the 1980s to 1990s.

The DJ set is all clean/radio friendly, so feel free to blast them off at work, on the job, etc. to get your collective head nod/dance on with.

Enjoy!

Hey there BlackRadioIsBack.com & the FuseBox Radio Broadcast friends & supporters! :)

We want to share this dope contest being held by cool folks Illa J, 2DopeBoyz.com, Delicious Vinyl, and Audible Treats that some of our music family (real Hip-Hop MCs, stand up for this one) might be interested in...

This is BlackRadioIsBack.com approved! Check out the details below:

To celebrate the recent release of the instrumental version of Illa J’s Yancey Boys, the good folks at Audible Treats have teamed up with your favorite rapper’s favorite website to bring you the “Illa J Remix Contest.”

After downloading the hook-included instrumental versions of “R U Listening” and “Showtime,” you will have two weeks to rap your best verses based around the concept of Illa J’s hooks.

Then submit your versions of the songs to be judged by Illa J and his label, Delicious Vinyl.

Rappers are allowed only one submission per song, which means at most two entries per person. Check out the full details under the cut.

Entry Dates and Deadlines:

1. The contest opens at 12:00am Eastern Standard time on March 04, 2009 and closes at 11:59pm Eastern Daylight Time on March 17, 2009.

Entries must be received on or before 11:59pm EST on March 17, 2009.

2. The winners will be announced on 2DopeBoyz.com on or by March 31, 2009, two weeks after entry deadline.

To Enter:

Download the hook-included instrumental tracks from (URL here). Add your own lyrics and send a 320kbps MP3 (44.1Khz Constant Bit Rate, Normal Stereo) file of your remix along with your name and email address to IllaJRemix@Gmail.com.

If you are sending entries for both songs, please send each song as a separate email.

Prizes:

1. Both winning submissions will be officially released by Delicious Vinyl as free digital singles for download and announced on 2DopeBoyz.com.

2. Each winner will also receive a 16 bar verse from Illa J for use on their own projects.

Winners will have two weeks to send three completed songs (beat + lyrics), each with 16 bar gaps for Illa J to hear.

Illa J will choose one song of the three from each winner and record an original 16 bar verse.

Each winner will then be able to use the song in any format as they see fit.
