* Due to technical difficulties, folks weren't able to record a brand new episode up as quickly as we would like with new music and talk. However, we wanted to give our listeners something to listen to with a flashback episode or 2 via our podcast feed in the meantime...enjoy the musical goodness! - DJ Fusion ** This is a flashback episode of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Ausar Ra Black Hawk for the week of April 5, 2017 (originally broadcast for the weeks of of February 25 & March 4, 2015) with some new and classic music from the international Black Diaspora, news and commentary. This week's radio show breakdown (by minutes/hours): 0:00 - 1:32:27 Introduction & Extended Commentary 1:32:27 - 2:15:05 DJ Fusion Mix 2:15:05 - 3:13:37 Ausar Ra Black Hawk Mix

Our extended commentary during that week after being back from some illness from the past 2 weeks touched base on the crazy winter weather in the U.S., net neutrality finally passing via the FCC in the United States (for now), the FOX soap opera "Empire" becoming a huge thing in current popular culture and our feelings on how the TV series has developed & Black broadcast TV at large, the passing of actor Leonard Nimoy & basketball player Anthony Mason, actress Monique talking about being blackballed in Hollywood & issues with director Lee Daniels, various Grammys & Oscar Award controversies from this year (with Kanye West's "Artist of the Year" complaint, Beyonce singing the lead song from the movie "Selma" instead of the original artist Ledisi, Patricia Arquette's terribly misguided backstage statements, etc.) and some other things here and there. There is no new new Black Agenda Report segment on this week's show due to our extended commentary.

What's up everyone!

This past week, the FuseBox Radio Broadcast and BlackRadioIsBack.com family had the privilege of being able to cover a part of the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC.

As a craft beer lover, it was pretty cool to be able to go to this professional industry conference to literally see how the brews get made, from the various exhibitors on deck at the Convention Center (which included distributors, marketing folks, graphic artists, machinery, packaging companies and more), seminars going down, brewery tours in the DMV (the pictures below are from a brewery tour we went to in Fredrick, MD, which including Monocacy Brewing Co, Rockwell Brewery, Mad Science Brewing Company and Brewers Ally), go to networking events (in and out of the building, with a decent amount of them open to the public), presentations, special beer tastings and more.

Overall, this is an awesome & enjoyable educational event I think that should have a chance to be open to more than professionals, if at all possible even for just one day.

The one constructive critique I can give to the Craft Brewers Conference is that I would love to see at next year's event would be a bit more focus on how to get more American minorities involved on the business & media coverage side of craft beer.

I did not see that much of that side of things during this year's conference and such a subject is going to be of extreme importance in the near future, especially with more and more that population in their mid-20s and above getting into enjoying it as a part of recreational drinking enjoyment, being interested in crafting their own beer, making review podcasts/websites/magazines about the diversity of craft beer and then some.

For more detailed information about the Craft Brewers Conference & BrewExpo America over at their official website, check out their official website at http://www.CraftBrewersConference.com.

However, we wanted to give our listeners something to listen to with a flashback episode or 2 via our podcast feed in the meantime...enjoy the sonic & talk goodness! - DJ Fusion ** Introduction Song: A Tribe Called Quest - Youthful Expression (Jive Records) This week, we have a special episode of the FuseBox Radio Broadcast with DJ Fusion & Ausar Ra Black Hawk where DJ Fusion interviewed Monica Moorehead, the presidential candidate for the 2016 U.S. Presidential Election for the Workers World Party. Presently, with the current “interesting” presidential election cycle (to say the least) here in the United States at the moment, one is more aware than ever of the imbalance in how 3rd parties are looked at in our current political system in terms of exposure by mainstream media outlets, if they even get any attention at all. The FuseBox Radio’s 2016 Presidential Candidate Interview Sessions were avialble to assist with educating voters a bit of information about various political parties & their viewpoints beyond the Democrat/Republican binary with what they stand for straight from the source. We talked about what exactly IS a socialist from Ms. Moorehead's viewpoint and how she decided to become deeply & personally involved with politics & the Workers World Party during college at Norfolk State in the 1970s, the WWP's platform (in regards to education, health care, the legal system & more), how change needs to happen from local levels on up (in the ballot box and on the streets), the current 2 party political landscape presidential candidacy shenanigans, how folks have been responding to their campaign (especially since socialism has been slandered with misinformation via various places), the difference between Democratic Socialism and Socialism, why there is such an imbalance with 3rd party political candidates getting on the ballot in various states on multiple levels and lots more! For more information about the Workers World Party, go to: http://www.workers.org/ https://twitter.com/workersworld https://www.facebook.com/WorkersWorldParty Feel free to check out some recent episodes of the syndicated FuseBox Radio Broadcast over at our official blog, BlackRadioIsBack.com - most of the shows are clean/radio friendly!
