For those who aren't familiar with the extremely talented producer and MC, Detroit's own James “J Dilla” Yancey inspired millions with his music on the mic and behind the boards for artists including Common, Raekwon, Erykah Badu, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, N'Dea Davenport and many more. He passed away on February 10, 2006 after a long bout battling with Lupus.
The DC Loves Dilla movement was created by Cultural Curator Munch Joseph and HedRush Music to celebrate J Dilla and honor his career works.
